When Time Grows Tired of Us
It is not we who chase time; rather, it is time that passes through us each day, studying our faces and leaving behind quiet notes: fatigue here, a postponed dream there, and a regret that never found the right language. Strangely enough, time never rushes us—we rush ourselves in its name.
We live as if time were an enemy to be defeated. We count hours, pursue days, and fear the years ahead, while the truth is both simpler and harsher. Time steals nothing from us; we are the ones who give away our details without resistance—a sincere conversation, a word that should have been spoken, or a silence that would have been kinder than unnecessary noise.
At some point, we realize that what exhausted us most was not the lack of time, but the poor way we used it. Life was not short; it was scattered. We spent it on expectations, on pleasing everyone else, and on postponing ourselves until a later notice that never arrived.
And when we grow tired, we do not ask for much. We only wish time would slow down a little—not to escape it, but to catch up with ourselves. To understand what happened, and why we became strangers to dreams we once defended fiercely.
Perhaps the only wisdom we learn too late is this: time is not managed; it is lived. And every day we fail to live honestly, we will one day be forced to remember with regret.
